Who’s ready for spring? I certainly am, I can’t wait to leave the cold weather and never-ending rain behind.  This design brings all the colours of spring together, with its double-stamped leaf pattern.  I was so happy with how this turned out, and I took so many photos… This is a really image-heavy post, but be patient so you can see all the gorgeousness of this Leafy Green Nail Art.

First, I started with Orly Primetime, which removes all oils from my nail plate. This alcohol-based product makes a huge difference in reducing the chips I eventually find in my manis. I spend a lot of time typing in my job and I’m pretty hard on my nails.  Plus they are a bit bendy, which always means chips, particularly on my index fingers.

By removing the oils, my base coat Bonder has a better chance of sticking firmly.  This is my favourite base coat combination right now.

After this, I used two coats of Picture Polish Mossy, which is a dark green jelly filled with holographic sparkles.  It’s kind of hidden by the stamping, but you can see it peeking through in the macro photo.

I’ve been trying out some new hand positions for my photos, and so I’d love to know what you think.  Let me know in the comments at the end.

Once Mossy was set (with the addition of a coat of Seche Vite) I moved on to stamping.  Each nail had the same design stamped on from MoYou London’s Tropical collection, not quite lined up, but very closely overlapping.  I stamped first with the bright green creme polish from Clear Jelly Stamper, and then with the green-gold holographic polish Kismet from Color Club.

You can see that the bright green stamping polish stained my cuticles a bit.  I’d certainly recommend using liquid latex to protect them (even though I rarely do)! I have no patience at all to wait for it to dry, and then I invariably stick my fingers together #FML.

After clean up, all it needed was a coat of top coat to seal it in.  I love how this looks! I wore it for my birthday and kept it on for a whole week. That’s pretty much unheard of!

Let me know what you think… are you ready for spring?  A fan of green nail polish (or not)? What do you think of the new hand poses I tried? I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
