Superchic Lacquer is a new brand to Rainbow Connection (where Annette helpfully enables my polish addiction) and Pheromone is a stand out colour for me. It’s a very bright, chartreuse-leaning yellow holographic.   I decided to create some Electric Nail Art to match the bright colour.

Confession Time: I ended up doing this really late at night after my first attempts with holo flake and gel went horribly wrong.  I already had a peel-off base and the Midnight Mischief on one hand as a base, but didn’t want to wait an age for another coat of Ünt to dry on the other hand.  I’m glad I used the peel-off base with Ünt since it can be a bit messy removing it as a painted base.

As a result, I have contrasting designs on each hand.  This is nice, but the peel-off base was pinging off all over the place by the next morning, so this ended up being an extremely short lived mani.  It’s a shame, because it is so pretty!

On one hand I have Bonder and Pheromone as my base, on the other, Ünt and Midnight Mischief. Both hands have a coat of Seche Vite to set them before stamping.

Pheromone covers in two coats nicely, but the second coat does drag the first if you aren’t careful.  Despite that, it is really opaque, and it rivals my Color Club holographic polishes there.  The Color Club holos stamp so well, I thought this would too, and I’m right!

Stamping is always quick, and this was no exception.  MoYou London plates are etched deeply, and so I never have a problem picking up the images.  Pheromone does dry fairly quickly, so you need to be speedy with it.

This definitely reminds me of the Electric Six song Danger! High Voltage! when I see it.  It might not be for everyone, but I really love the brightness of this colour.  It’s really in your face. My nails might be really short at the moment, but no one can miss them!

Would you pick a bright colour like this? Or do you prefer neutrals and pretty pink shades?
