Yes, I know this is another green manicure. I’ve honestly been trying to do something different, but this isn’t really my fault. This Mermaid Tail Nail Art is part of this month’s Maniswap challenge, and the prompt was mint green.

I based it on a design from Jane, who is known as Foxxy Nails on Instagram and has a YouTube channel too.

Polishes and tools

Orly Bonder
Chanel Fraîcheur
Orly Sparkling Garbage
Rainbow Connection Zap
MoYou London plate Sailor 05 and white stamping polish
Painted Polish Midnight Mischief
Clear Jelly Stamper The Big Bling and Bling Brush
Seche Vite

After preparing my nails, I used one coat of Bonder and two coats of Fraîcheur.  It isn’t quite opaque without three coats, but that doesn’t matter under glitter and stamping.

Sparkling Garbage is a beautiful green holographic glitter in a grey jelly base. It’s quite sheer, so really needs a base and/or building up.  I used two coats here.

After that I added a coat of Seche Vite to set it all.

This is a double stamping design with the white going first. I actually used a little liquid latex around my nails before stamping this time.

I’m not sure it makes things quicker, and I find it tends to roll off the sides of my fingers as I’m stamping. As I’m using black stamping polish, using it does make clean up a bit easier. Using straight acetone can make your skin look dehydrated.

After a final coat of Seche Vite, I am finished.

I really love the 3D effect the double stamping creates, and despite how much I’ve used green lately, I’m also very happy with the colour.
