This sheer lace cover up makes the perfect inspiration for nail art

Something a bit different for you today! I was sent a pair of Wingz for review by Sarah, and I chose a lovely scalloped lace three-quarter length sleeve design.  I created some nails to match of course – lace nail art inspired with Wingz!

If you haven’t seen Wingz before, they are essentially sleeves that you can add to an outfit to give your a little more warmth or coverage.  This lace design has been great for me, particularly when the air con gets a bit too ferocious.

Nailtiques Formula 2+
Butter London Nail Foundation
Ya Quin An Y003 plate
MoYou London Black Knight
Seche Vite

My nails are feeling so much stronger from using Nailtiques again.  I applied a little Orly Primetime just on my free edges first, because without it I do find my nails chip more quickly.  However, I think using it all over my nails without regular oil applications contributed to my nails getting so fragile.

After one coat of Nailtiques, I used two coats of Nail Foundation. It’s still a bit sheer, so it won’t cover your free edge, but it will disguise it a little. Nail Foundation is not a perfect nude shade for me, a little on the orange side, but it’s good under the stamping.

It was another late night when I created this, so I skipped the Seche Vite again. This Butter London base dries pretty quickly though, so it didn’t cause me any problems.  I do prefer adding an interim layer, particularly for thicker or glitter polishes, so you have a smooth and firm base for stamping.

Stamping was quick as always, and clean up somehow easier than normal – the polish barely adhered to my fingers.  Seche Vite sealed it all in and I was done!

Now, I don’t post pictures of myself at all on here, I am certainly not a fashion blogger.  But in the name of an honest review I have included one…be kind!  Thank you to my lovely friend Tasha for taking these!

If you feel a bit self conscious about your upper arms, or just want to extend the life of your outfit into cooler weather, I think Wingz are a great idea.  I’ve got really long limbs, but I think they are very true to size.

My only criticism was that on close inspection the finish wasn’t perfect around the ends of the sleeves, since they were trimmed rather than hemmed.  If you want a perfect finish I think one of the chiffon or stretch designs would have a perfect finish.  Having said that, I did get several comments around the office that I was looking very smart! (apparently I normally don’t???)

So tell me what you think!  Would you rock these Wingz and this delicate nail art? There are plenty of colours and styles to choose from and they fit sizes from UK 6 up to 28.

I think this design from the Ya Quin An plate matches the scalloped pattern of the lace really well, and I am OK with the amount of visible nail line I’m revealing!
