I wanted another challenge this week, so I found inspiration in this Antonio Beradi design below. I recreated it in the form of nail art!

I was inspired by this image that Antonio Beradi posted recently on Instagram. It’s a bouclé suit from 2001. I love the texture!

This outfit has a rough but geometric weave, dotted with metallic sequins. I used a combination of stamping and tiny shreds of metal leaf to recreate this.

Starting with my base coat combination, I only needed one coat of the grey base, because it’s completely opaque in one coat. Unfortunately, it does dry a bit darker than I realised.

Next, I used a new stamping plate from MoYou London, from my favourite collection – The Pro. These were some of my very first plates from this company and I really rate them.

I also used one of their stamping polishes and stamped my chosen design in white over the grey. The rough squares remind me of the bouclé weave of the suit.

Rescuing my mistake…

At this point I realise my grey base is far too dark. Hmph. I added a couple of coats of a sheer white polish over the stamping to tone it down. It kind of smeared my stamping a little, which was a shame.

While my nails were still tacky, I used tweezers to shred tiny pieces of the copper leaf and then pressed them onto my nails.

After that all I needed was a coat of Seche Vite. I’m really pleased to see it didn’t affect the copper leaf.

You could try using a matte top coat with this design to be a closer finish to the fashion.

It’s been a while since I recreated a fashion design, but it was really fun. I enjoyed working out what to combine to create the effect I wanted.
