I took my inspiration from NYFW Lie Sang Bong‘s collection titled “Transparencies”. I loved the sheer fading into white and the angles of the lines.  It reminded me of Serena’s phone case from Gossip Girl! I don’t like my smile line showing through designs so I switched the sheer and white ends of the design.

Polishes and Tools

Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Pure Color Liner Brush #9

I created a gradient using a damp sponge and clear polish with white.  This only took two coats so it was quite quick.  Because the gradient at the tip, clean-up was minimal too!

Once the gradient was dry, I freehanded the lines in white over the top. I could have – should have – stamped this part of the design. I realised afterwards that I have the perfect plate in MoYou London Punk 09. Next time!

I added China Glaze Fairy Dust over the top, but it didn’t improve things.  I got distracted and painted my Creative Shop stamper with Zoya Chyna which looks great (and look closely to notice the sparkle from the Fairy Dust).

NYFW Lie Sang Bong

Lie Sang Bong isn’t a designer I was aware before.  He creates minimalist and architectural clothes and this collection was also inspired by the folds in wrapped clothing from Korea. You can watch the whole show on his website but I also love how it gradually changes from all white and sheer in the first look to bringing blue shades later on.  What was your favourite look from NYFW?
