Chevron tips
Time for another easy-to-create design which has a lot of impact…
I started with OPI Nail Envy as a base coat and two coats of Essie Turquoise & Caicos – definitely a firm favourite already!
Then I brought out a silver polish – I used Essie No Place Like Chrome, which is opaque in a single coat. To create the chevron tip was quick – but you need to be confident and decisive to create a clean line.
Angle the brush at 45 degrees to the nail at one side about three-quarters of the way to the tip. Make one stroke up to the centre of the tip, but don’t worry about getting it around the sides of your fingers. Repeat on the other side and then use a small paintbrush dipped in remover to clean up any on your skin. I created chevrons on three nails on each hand.
Next up: glitter. I used Models Own Ibiza Mix which has a good colour mixture, so stood out well from the silver and turquoise colours. I added one coat to the whole of the two nails without a chevron, enough to still have the turquoise showing through. On the chevron tip I swiped glitter up one side of each chevron only – it took a little bit of placement with the brush to keep the glitter in the silver tip. All topped off with a coat of Seche Vite.
