Superchic Lacquer is a new brand to Rainbow Connection (where Annette helpfully enables my polish addiction) and Pheromone is a stand out colour for me. It’s a very bright, chartreuse-leaning yellow holographic. I decided to create some Electric Nail Art to match the bright colour.
Polishes and tools
Orly Bonder
Ünt Ready for Takeoff
Superchic Lacquer Pheromone
Painted Polish Midnight Mischief
MoYou London Time Traveller Back to the 80’s 04
Clear Jelly Stamper The Big Bling and Bling Brush
Seche Vite
Confession Time: I ended up doing this really late at night after my first attempts with holo flake and gel went horribly wrong. I already had a peel-off base and the Midnight Mischief on one hand as a base, but didn’t want to wait an age for another coat of Ünt to dry on the other hand. I’m glad I used the peel-off base with Ünt since it can be a bit messy removing it as a painted base.
As a result, I have contrasting designs on each hand. This is nice, but the peel-off base was pinging off all over the place by the next morning, so this ended up being an extremely short lived mani. It’s a shame, because it is so pretty!
On one hand I have Bonder and Pheromone as my base, on the other, Ünt and Midnight Mischief. Both hands have a coat of Seche Vite to set them before stamping.
Pheromone covers in two coats nicely, but the second coat does drag the first if you aren’t careful. Despite that, it is really opaque, and it rivals my Color Club holographic polishes there. The Color Club holos stamp so well, I thought this would too, and I’m right!
Stamping is always quick, and this was no exception. MoYou London plates are etched deeply, and so I never have a problem picking up the images. Pheromone does dry fairly quickly, so you need to be speedy with it.
After a quick clean up and top coat, I am done!
Electric Nail Art
This definitely reminds me of the Electric Six song Danger! High Voltage! when I see it. It might not be for everyone, but I really love the brightness of this colour. It’s really in your face. My nails might be really short at the moment, but no one can miss them!
Would you pick a bright colour like this? Or do you prefer neutrals and pretty pink shades?
April 24, 2017
Wow those look amazing! They would be sure to shock anyone when out and about at night!
July 2, 2017

April 24, 2017
Oh wow those are amazing! I wish I could do anything with my nails, but even just normal polish goes wrong for me (I have the shakes badly though haha).
July 2, 2017
You just need to learn the secret of clean up Sarah! Makes a huge difference and no one will know!
April 24, 2017
Wow that is some properly fierce nail art I absolutely LOVE it!
July 2, 2017

April 24, 2017
Pheromone looks absolutely gorgeous! I love the nail art you created! It looks perfect!
July 2, 2017

April 24, 2017
Pretty fancy! When I read the title I was thinking of sculpture art. This makes much more sense. I love that yellow/gold color. You have a very steady hand.
July 2, 2017
Thanks Tonya! I love the colour too (and definitely not the other type of nails!)
April 24, 2017
You are so talented these look amazing, I love the flashes but also the under detailing from the glitter in the base colour.

Thank you Kaz!! They are fun and exciting for sure 🙂
April 24, 2017
These are great for a night out! What is stamping though and how does it work?
July 2, 2017
Thanks Jenny! There’s a quick video here, but you have designs etched into a metal plate, which you apply nail polish, scrape off the excess, and then use a silicon stamper to pick up the design and transfer it onto your nail. Complex designs with minimal effort!
April 24, 2017
Oh no! Shame it didn’t last long but it still looks super bad ass. I am not sure why but it kind of reminds me of David Bowie! x
July 2, 2017
It is a very 80’s pattern – probably reminds you of David’s make up back then 🙂
April 25, 2017
Oh wow I think this is so fun! I would rock this! Great job, your nail art is so clean and pretty!
July 2, 2017

April 25, 2017
Wow .. how cool is this?! Your nails really are a work of art. Admittedly .. every time I get my nails done I go with my standard red. My daughter tells me I’m boring. I wonder what she would say if I came home with this!
July 2, 2017
Do it!! I love trying something different, and your nails are such a great way to try something new 🙂
April 25, 2017

July 2, 2017
I kind of like the temporary nature – there’s always something new. And this blog helps me keep track of everything I’ve created
April 25, 2017
