It’s finally warm in the UK, spring is giving way to summer, apart from the past couple of days which were more like November! My summer dresses are out, and I want some bright, pretty nails to go with them! I had my eyes on plenty of summer polishes in yesterday’s best of nail polish post, so Picture Polish Orchid is perfect for right now.
Read MoreThe events in Manchester last week really shocked me. The audience for an Ariana Grande concert are young people and children, their parents, so it felt particularly callous to me. It’s part of my job to react and deal publicly with these sort of things. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a serving police officer or anything, but I did spend the whole day working on reacting professionally to the bombing, so when I got home all the emotions got to me at once. I decided to add a Worker Bee for Manchester to my nails, to show my respect and support in my own way.
Yes, I know this is another green manicure. I’ve honestly been trying to do something different, but this isn’t really my fault. This Mermaid Tail Nail Art is part of this month’s Maniswap challenge, and the prompt was mint green.
I based it on a design from Jane, who is known as Foxxy Nails on Instagram and has a YouTube channel too.
Superchic Lacquer is a new brand to Rainbow Connection (where Annette helpfully enables my polish addiction) and Pheromone is a stand out colour for me. It’s a very bright, chartreuse-leaning yellow holographic. I decided to create some Electric Nail Art to match the bright colour.
In a very exciting departure, I’m writing about nail art that isn’t green!! I’ve been on a bit of a theme lately, so here’s something different. Along with opal nails, trying to recreate nails that look like semi-precious stones has been a challenge. This Amethyst Crystal Nail Art uses a smooshing technique which worked really well to create the layers and stripes you see in this type of stone.
I am really feeling all the green shades at the moment, so I didn’t really need the excuse of St Patrick’s Day for this design. I was reminded about this super bright green holo polish I had, and added a little stamping to make this St Patrick’s Day nail art.

Who’s ready for spring? I certainly am, I can’t wait to leave the cold weather and never-ending rain behind. This design brings all the colours of spring together, with its double-stamped leaf pattern. I was so happy with how this turned out, and I took so many photos… This is a really image-heavy post, but be patient so you can see all the gorgeousness of this Leafy Green Nail Art.
I got so excited when I saw this polish was available through Rainbow Connection. It’s full of glitters that change colour depending on the angle you see them from. This is my first polish from this brand, and it’s inspired by Friends. Native War Paints The One With The… is a beautiful polish.
Hi everyone! I’m guest posting on Secretary’s Nail Art today, with a swatch of FUN Lacquer Shana. This is a beautiful polish from a collaboration between FUN Lacquer and Rainbow Connection.

I’ve really been into my galaxy-themed swatches recently, and here’s another. Based on 2001: A Space Odyssey, this collaboration from The Nailista Shop is lovely. Picture Polish 2001 is a grey-blue scattered holo definitely reminds me of a far away place.
