Lesson 1: choose your location
Being on holiday, I thought I’d take the opportunity to do my nails outside on a warm, sunny day with a slight breeze. BIG MISTAKE.
Polish does not like a warm, sunny, breezy day. It was a nightmare to work with and you can see that reflected in the finish I achieved. Ugh. It was thick and sticky to paint, dried on top overly quickly meaning little bubbles of air were trapped in the colour and couldn’t escape.
OPI Live Love Carnival
Max Factor Fantasy Fire
Nails Inc São Paulo Streets
China Glaze Glimmer More
Zoya Bar
I followed KiraKiraNails tutorial for boho floating flowers, but using a nude base instead of white. I didn’t have any gold beads with me, so used holographic glitters from Zoya Bar instead. You can watch her tutorial on YouTube: http://youtu.be/fM4ivX5a5sU
The bubbles are the worst on the nude polish, you can see they are all speckly.
From the angle in the photos Live Love Carnival topped with Fantasy Fire exactly matches the smaller glitters in Glimmer More, but if you look along the nail they look a beautiful teal green. It was a pain to capture on camera, so excuse the next photo!
So, what have we all learnt today? Don’t do your nails outside, no matter how nice the weather!
