Yesterday was Crystal’s birthday, who is otherwise known as polish_plebe. She’s a qualified pilot (!) and her favourite colour is blue, so a group of us got together to do some manis for her. Check out my Flying Airplane nail art below!

I started with two coats of Aja, a lovely blue polish with loads of holo sparkle. After that I used the rough edge of a latex sponge to dab a little Shana (purple) and Cepheus (grey jelly with flakies) over the top.

I just add a little touch here and there to give the base a bit of visual texture.  I had planned to do a landscape or clouds, but it was getting a bit too late for anything complicated!

Next I stamped the chevrons, dots, and planes using the white polish. Luckily my nails are relatively short at the moment, so I was able to stamp the chevrons across my nails instead of down like they are intended.

After clean up, I sealed it all in with Seche Vite top coat.

Here is the final collage from yesterday, with all 12 designs.  Crystal was really surprised and happy to see it! There’s even a few photos of her flying her plane!!

I’m happy with how this came out, the base is subtle, but I like the effect – it looks like the plane is flying over a tropical ocean.

I would have had this post up yesterday, but I was out in London at a blogger event! My friend Kim and I met loads of great brands and came away with plenty of ideas and a few samples too.

One of the first we met was Jewellery Box and I spotted this cute ring that went perfectly with this nail art:

Isn’t it so cute! I love silver jewellery and arrows, triangles and chevrons, so this ring is right up my street.

Hope you enjoyed this design, I’ll be back soon with more!
