Holo-Halloween Glow-fest
I had been planning my Halloween outfit and nails for a while (they even had their own Pinterest board) as I had a ticket for a big Halloween party in London. A whole evening was dedicated to this mix and match design with a palette of green, white, silver holographic and black.
I used:
Maybelline Pow Green
Hits Hefesto
OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
CH Nails Luminous Polish 02
China Glaze Liquid Leather
OPI Black Shatter
OPI Don’t Touch My Tutu
Color Club Eternal Beauty
Orly Sparkling Garbage
Bundle Monster Plate BM13
Hits Hefesto
OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
CH Nails Luminous Polish 02
China Glaze Liquid Leather
OPI Black Shatter
OPI Don’t Touch My Tutu
Color Club Eternal Beauty
Orly Sparkling Garbage
Bundle Monster Plate BM13
The Maybelline, Hits and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls were my base colours. I added 2 coats of CH Nails to each. My off-white and silver bases were a bit muddy green looking so I added a coat of Don’t Touch My Tutu and the Hits polishes respectively to those nails.
I followed Paper Thin Nails sugar skull tutorial using China Glaze, Color Club, OPI MBSW, Maybelline and a touch of the CH Nails. I also used a dotting tool in two sizes and a detailer brush.
My dripping nails were inspired by Nail Porn’s manicure and used China Glaze Liquid Leather and a striping brush.
The crackle hearts were made using a stencil. I tried a freehand design using a small brush but the polish didn’t split. I used nail scissors to cut heart shapes in small squares of washi tape and then painted a thick layer of OPI Black Shatter and removed the tape straight away.
The black French was freehand and the creepy tree was added with a detailer brush. On my thumbs I made a basic glitter gradient with Orly Sparkling Garbage just using the brush from the bottle. The cobwebs and bats are stamped using China Glaze and Bundle Monster plate BM13. Everything was topped with Seche Vite.
My sugar skull on my dominant hand is a touch wonky, but I actually really like that it is gap-toothed! I also managed to get some glowing photos for the first time ever…
I hope you like them! These are some of my favourite nails ever, I didn’t want to take them off… Glow in the dark worked really well and I loved seeing them glowing at night.
If you like the look of shatter polishes, OPI are selling all their stock off. I picked this Black Shatter up (along with purple and green shatters) at poundshops!!
