Fabiana set this art-inspired challenge on NailArtNation this week, and she definitely had me in mind! His artwork is a mixture of colour and monochrome pieces, and I loved the monochrome line work, which had an almost op-art quality about it. I’d like to present my Frank Stella nail art!
One of the best things about summer in the UK is that, occasionally, you get brilliant sunshine. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it’s the right time to bring out your holo polishes. Well, in my opinion it’s always the right time for holo, but don’t miss out seeing these polishes in actual bright, direct, natural light. If, like me, you can’t get enough of it, try this Holographic Stamping on holo for some ultimate summer nails.
This week’s prompt on Nail Art Nation was waterfall nails. Fabiana did a great design on a beige base which you can find here. I always like to be a bit different, so I decided to start with a black base and create some Holographic Waterfall Nail Art.
I am a bit of a sucker for Picture Polish shades, and this is one I bought earlier this year. Picture Polish Merge is a beige creme with scatter holo particles. That means all the individual pieces make their own rainbow, rather than one big one across the nail. I started with a swatch, then added some nail art (of course) and then had to go a bit crazy with the hand positions to capture the art!
I’ve seen photos of this design a few times and I think Bracelet Nails are going to be the next big trend in nail art. It involves a sheer or nude base, with thin, roughly horizontal lines near the tip, loaded with nail jewellery like a charm bracelet. This is my take on it!
