Since I’ve been doing a lot of green nail art lately, I needed some outside colour inspiration. One of my Instagram friends Tanya suggested navy blue, one of her favourite colours. For some quick and easy nail art matte navy blue is really chic, and very work appropriate.

The events in Manchester last week really shocked me. The audience for an Ariana Grande concert are young people and children, their parents, so it felt particularly callous to me. It’s part of my job to react and deal publicly with these sort of things. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a serving police officer or anything, but I did spend the whole day working on reacting professionally to the bombing, so when I got home all the emotions got to me at once. I decided to add a Worker Bee for Manchester to my nails, to show my respect and support in my own way.

I definitely see marble backgrounds everywhere on social media, it seems to be the default for flatlays and beauty bloggers. After seeing Jamie of Tanned Beauty Addict, who showed off her great marble nails on Instagram, I wanted to try White Marble nail art for myself!

Some of them were bright, but there was nothing that glows under UV light, which is the sign of a true neon. I asked around forums and groups for recommendations, but came across Cirque Rehab which it turns out is my Perfect Neon Blue Polish.
Before my self-imposed no-buy started, this new Orly neon was one of my last purchases. It’s a bright, highlighter yellow which leans ever so slightly green in my eyes.
