I got to set the challenge on Nail Art Nation last week! It’s therefore a bit disappointing that I struggled so much with it… Wednesday was challenge day and also the Autumn Equinox. I was also feeling inspired by my successes at water marbling, so I wanted to bring that technique to the challenge.

I can’t say that my efforts were entirely successful, so you’ll see two designs in this post. After the first one I wanted to try again.  I wasn’t really 100% happy with either, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

Autumn Equinox Watermarble

My first attempt was a watermarble.  I was really proud of how I managed to create a “feathered” design with tightly packed lines of loops of colour – and no bubbles this time!

 Polishes used:

OPI Magenta Muse, Chromatic Orange, Primarily Yellow and Landscape Green
Picture Polish Autumn
Barry M Gold Foil
MoYou London Mother Nature 14

I overdid the stamping – I almost completely covered up my watermarble. I think this would have been better if I’d swapped the stamping designs.

Autumn Equinox Feathers

My next effort was simpler, but I’m not sure it really had the impact I was looking for. It brings the red, orange, gold green and brown colours together, and I like the effect the feathers add, but it missed the mark for me.

 Polishes used:

AEngland Gloriana
Dance Legend Big Bang
Real feathers from a craft shop
So, I think I’ve celebrated the turn of the seasons in ample fashion!
