New, fun Chanel polishes are out, and you’re going to love these spring colours! I’m swatching them for you with a quick review, starting with Chanel Verde Pastello, a fresh turquoise creme.
I really love any turquoise blue-green shade, and this is no exception.
Formula: Creme, no shimmer
Coats: Two for full opacity
Brush: Standard, soft with a slightly rounded tip
Swatch of Verde Pastello
For my swatch I started with my current base coat combination of Jessica Fusion and Orly Bonder. I used two coats of Verde Pastello and finished with one coat of Seche Vite.
This polish covered really well with two coats for complete opacity. It dries fairly quickly, so it can drag if you try to go over a spot.
Verde Pastello dries relatively shiny, but I’d definitely use top coat for this. It doesn’t have that jelly-like consistency which provides built-in gloss.
Similar Chanel nail polish colours
I thought I’d show you how some other Chanel shades in my stash compare:
Chanel Fraîcheur is the most similar, but much more green than Verde Pastello. It was released in 2015, and is very similar to the cult classic Jade.
Despite the Seche Vite in my hand, this is actually Chanel Nouvelle Vague. It’s similar to Fraîcheur, with a bit more blue, but less than Verde Pastello. It’s also less saturated. My skin looks weird af in this very old photo – sorry!
Chanel Monochrome is much more greyed out, but has similar undertones – if this polish suits you, I think you’ll like Verde Pastello. Monochrome is from the Summer 2016 collection.
Finally, Chanel Mediterranée, which is a much more saturated and deeper turquoise from Summer 2015.
Chanel Verde Pastello
I really like this minty, aqua turquoise shade, and it’s different to any other Chanel polish in my collection.
I was pleasantly surprised how completely opaque it was in two coats. Lighter pastel shades have a tendency to sheer out, but this didn’t. I got mine from John Lewis, where this shade is in stock at the time of writing.
Are you a fan of turquoise too? Would you rock this in Spring/Summer? Let me know in the comments!

Perfect aqua colour for the spring
A beautiful spring turquoise, and a unique colour in my Chanel stash. The opacity and colour are great, but the consistency can be a little tricky.

Verde Pastello is a gorgeous spring shade! It looks absolutely perfect on your nails. I don’t usually think of Chanel for fashion shades, but it looks like they do them very well.

It’s perfect for spring! I’m loving all three of the shades I’ve swatched from Chanel this time.

I haven’t paid attention to Chanel in a long time! You have a great stash!

Thank you! They’ve got their own drawer in one helmer, but there’s hardly any space left now

Do you prefer Verde Pastello or Nouvelle Vague?

I’m a a sucker for blues, so I’d pick Nouvelle Vague I think. But they are both lovely.
